Boarding Terms & Conditions
This Agreement is between the pet owner (“Client”) and Seven Hills Veterinary Clinic PC dba Seven Hills Pet Wellness Center (“Seven Hills”) and dba Bucky’s Boarding & Daycare (“Seven Hills”) and applies to all pets owned now and in the future. You acknowledge the inherent risks of boarding and authorize Seven Hills to provide all necessary services during your pet’s stay.
GENERAL
Seven Hills will provide services as requested on the Boarding Stay Form. We will exercise reasonable care and professional judgment to ensure your pet’s safety and comfort. All pets will be fed, housed, and cared for in clean, secure quarters.
NOTICE
The boarding of animals is subject to Article 3.1 (3.1-796.83:1 et seq.) of Chapter 27.4 of Title 3.1. If your animal becomes ill or injured while in the custody of the boarding establishment, the boarding establishment shall provide the animal with emergency veterinary treatment for the illness or injury.
The consumer shall bear the reasonable and necessary costs of emergency veterinary treatment for any illness or injury occurring while the animal is in the custody of the boarding establishment. The boarding establishment shall bear the expenses of veterinary treatment for any injury the animal sustains while at the boarding establishment if the injury resulted from the establishment's failure, whether accidental or intentional, to provide the care required by 3.1-796.68; however, boarding establishments shall not be required to bear the cost of veterinary treatment for injuries resulting from the animal's self-mutilation.
PET HEALTH REQUIREMENTS
All pets must have:
Negative intestinal parasite test within 6 months.
Current vaccines per Seven Hills guidelines:
Cats: FVRCP (Distemper), Rabies
Dogs: DAPPi (Distemper), Rabies, Bordetella
If fleas or ticks are found, treatment will be administered at Client’s expense.
HEALTH & BEHAVIOR
Seven Hills is not equipped to board critically ill, overly aggressive, or biting pets. We reserve the right to refuse any pet deemed unsafe or unhealthy for boarding. By law, medical treatment will be provided as needed, at the Client’s expense.
POLICIES
Payment: All fees are due at pickup. Charges begin the day of check-in.
Prepayment: Required during peak times. Prepayments are non-refundable for no-shows.
Cancellations: Must be made at least 3 days before arrival to avoid a 1-day fee.
Late Pickup: Pets not picked up on departure date will continue to accrue daily charges. After 10 days without contact, the pet may be deemed abandoned under state law and handled accordingly.
Personal Items: We discourage leaving personal items. Seven Hills is not responsible for loss or damage to any belongings left with your pet.
VIRGINIA VETERINARY DISCLOSURE
In accordance with Virginia law, this serves to inform you that Seven Hills does not have continuous on-duty medical staff outside the hours listed below:
Hours of On-Site Veterinary Care:
Mon 9 AM–5 PM | Tue 2 PM–5 PM | Wed 9 AM–12 PM | Thu 9 AM–5 PM
Holidays (no on-duty veterinary staff):
New Year’s Eve/Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day.
Routine care (feeding, walking, cleaning) is provided daily by kennel staff.
After-hours care available through:
Animal Emergency Clinic of Lynchburg (434-846-1504) and Urgent Care Center (434-849-7950, 9 AM–5 PM).
BOARDING RISKS & AUTHORIZATIONS
You acknowledge the potential exposure to other animals and agree not to hold Seven Hills responsible for injuries or illnesses unless caused by negligence.
You are responsible for any harm your pet causes to other pets or people.
Seven Hills may administer or seek veterinary care if necessary, at your expense, and is authorized to make such decisions if you cannot be reached.
Common stress-related effects such as mild diarrhea, appetite changes, or upper-respiratory infections may occur despite vaccination; Seven Hills is not liable for such conditions.
Except in cases of negligence, Seven Hills is not liable for injury, illness, or loss of pets or property.
ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Photo Permission: You authorize Seven Hills to use photos of your pet for lawful purposes including social media and advertising.
Representation: You confirm ownership of the pet and that all information provided is accurate.
You agree to indemnify and hold Seven Hills harmless for losses or claims arising from your pet’s stay.
This agreement remains valid for all future visits.
